Description
.308 Winchester 190gr Subsonic Expanding (Darkstar)
Engineered for the Sound of Impact.
Product Overview:
Designed for hunters and suppressor enthusiasts who demand maximum performance with minimal sound, Darkstar is our subsonic .308 Winchester hunting load. Featuring a precision-machined Maker 190 grain solid copper expanding projectile, Darkstar delivers reliable expansion at subsonic velocities while maintaining exceptional accuracy and consistency. During development, our objective was simple: create the quietest .308 Winchester subsonic load possible without sacrificing terminal performance. The result is an incredibly soft-shooting cartridge with an exceptionally low sound signature that consistently stands apart from every other subsonic .308 load we’ve evaluated. Whether you’re pursuing game with a suppressed bolt-action rifle or simply appreciate precision-engineered ammunition, Darkstar is built to deliver premium performance from muzzle to target.

Important Information
Darkstar is specifically engineered for 18” – 20” bolt-action rifles. This load is not intended to cycle semi-automatic actions and should not be expected to reliably function in AR-10 or other gas-operated platforms. If used in barrels outside the recommended 18” – 20” length, may no longer be subsonic, or may not stabilize.
A 1:10″ twist barrel or faster is required to properly stabilize this projectile. Slower twist rates may result in poor accuracy, inadequate terminal performance, or projectile instability.
Suppressor Safety Notice
Before firing Darkstar through a suppressor, always verify projectile stabilization by firing the ammunition without a suppressor attached and confirming clean, round bullet holes in the target. Do not install a suppressor until proper stabilization has been confirmed. Firing an unstable projectile through a suppressor may result in a baffle strike and suppressor damage. Velocity Ammunition is not responsible for suppressor damage resulting from the use of an incompatible firearm or barrel configuration.
